Re-Leaf Program Update
The GVL Disaster Recovery Foundation has been able to secure 100 pine trees for replanting on privately owned fire properties.
- The new trees need to replace trees burned in the 2007 fire
- The replacement must be in Green Valley Lake
- They must be replaced on private property not public forest land
- If you are currently under construction which will not be concluded quickly or beginning construction, please wait until next spring.
- Owners are limited to 5 trees while the supply lasts.

Re-Leaf Program Update-Trees in the Re-Leaf program cannot be planted while construction is ongoing. Due to the fact that so many home's in GVL are still under construction or waiting to start construction, Re-Leaf has decided to postpone GVL's planting until next spring when they will re-evaluate our circumstances. Sorry folks, but they don't want those precious little trees to get trampled.
NEWS ALERT - March 19, 2009
We are aware that many of those who lost homes in the Slide Fire and participated in the County Debris removal program are now receiving "bills" for tens of thousands of dollars. Please stay calm as we attempt to sort through this problem. If the county is requesting duplication of information you have previously furnished, you may want to submit it again to be safe.
Third District Supervisor Neil Derry is on the job trying to sort through the situation. As soon as we have more details we will post them here to keep you informed.
You can read about Supervisors Derry's stance on the debris removal costs at the following link: www.mountain-news.com see article 03/18 "Derry Assails Cleanup Costs"
