Wildflowers of Green Valley Lake

Wallflower

Between May and August, the wildflowers you'll be seeing on the hiking trails through the forest surrounding Green Valley Lake will be beautiful.  If you're like most people, you'll want to know what the names are of these mysterious flowers.  But it isn't always easy finding out that information from a wildflower book because most of them concentrate on other parts of the country, or the desert, or don't include the ones found at our altitude.  This can get very time-consuming and discouraging.  The purpose of this page is to help you pinpoint the wildflowers that are found up here at 7000' and every photo was taken right here in Green Valley Lake.  The website to find the names of flowers found everywhere on the mountain is www.heapspeakarboretum.com
